"My name is Richard Jordan and I’m the owner and founder of Excel Driver Training. I’ve been a Driving instructor for over 5 years, having carried out my training with the AA. I left the AA after 18 months to set up on my own as Learn2Pass. Boosted by excellent pass rates, value for money and fantastic reviews things have gone from strength to strength and in 2020 I rebranded as Excel Driver Training. The real buzz I get from being an Instructor is watching a pupil develop from being nervous in their first few lessons and guiding them to become confident, composed, safe drivers of the future and seeing the smile on their face when they achieve their goals. I’m currently working towards completing a BTEC Level 4 Professional Award in Coaching and Driver Development and completed a course to become an Instructor Trainer.

When I’m not in the passenger seat you’ll find me watching football as I’ve been a season ticket holder at Leicester City since 1992, supporting my son and his team mates at Hinckley Rugby FC, chilling out at home with my wife, sons and our 2 dogs or playing on the xbox.

“My name is Aiden Keane, I trained to be an Instructor with Red Driving School, but realised I didn’t want to stay with them and when the opportunity came to join Excel I jumped at the chance. I love being an Instructor because I enjoy helping people. Watching how a pupil progresses with my help and develop into a confident/safe driver is amazing and I find it very rewarding. I’m hoping to take my BTEC level 4 in Professional Driver Coaching in the near future as well.

When I’m not out in the car taking lessons, you’ll find me down the gym or on my PC gaming. I have a passion for cooking, love preparing dishes for friends and family and leaving the cleaning up for them. I enjoy traveling and have plans to travel around Greece on my next adventure. ”

Richard has done a great job in not only helping me pass my driving test but also preparing me for independent driving. He has a very relaxed style of teaching which works well for driving as it allows you to stay calm and focused whilst also allowing you to learn all that is required to be a safe driver. Would definitely recommend ExceL Driver Training, great communication throughout and even during lockdown when no lessons could take place still always happy to answer questions. the app shows driving skills and progress made, also has lessons booked so you can keep track. as a parent I did like to have a quick catch up on progress after his lesson to which helped settle my own nerves on this next stage of parenting!! overall excellent service and will be booking again for my younger son.

I was always so nervous about starting driving and put it off for a long time as I didn’t believe I was ever going to be able to do it, but after beginning lessons with Richard all those worries washed away and my confidence in both myself and my driving abilities slowly but surely increased. I’ve had such a good time learning to drive with him, as he uses a student-focused teaching method which allows you as the learner to take real control of your progress. With self reflections and visual progress on the app you can track your success easily and you can see simply where your strengths and weaknesses lay. He’s a really lovely instructor who makes you feel at ease and is super easy to talk to, which as someone who gets anxious starting new things was super important to me. I’ve never felt worried or stressed out on a lesson as he keeps very calm and collected even in tricky situations. He’s also very patient and considerate so you never feel rushed or out of your depth. And here we are 30 hours later and I’ve passed first time! I seriously can’t recommend him enough and wish him the best in all that he does in the future :)
